A simple request regarding people applying to join us.

On behalf of all of the officers of this tribe, I'd like to make a simple request regarding people applying to join us.

Please remember that there are many people who put in a lot of work to make this (probably) the best guild on DB. Some of this work is very obvious, like events or this amazing website and some of it is behind the scenes and not so obvious. Please also remember that the officers are, like you, here to have fun and play the game. They may log on at a particular time to do a quest, grind for materials or talk to somebody ingame - they may not want to be distracted from that by having to do something that they had not planned to do at that time.

So in future, can I request that nobody directs people wanting to join us to /w officers. If somebody asks about joining us, please direct them to the applications forum. If they have already submitted an application and they ask you to direct them to an officer, then please tell the applicant that you will make an officer aware of their request and that they will be contacted when there is an officer available to speak to them. At that point you can make everyone aware either in /juicytroll or (IC) in /g that somebody wants to speak to an officer.

Receiving unsolicited whispers from strangers can be very annoying at times and you would not believe how many I get in one day of playing. I'm sure that the same is true for other officers. 90 percent of the time, I do not want to stop what I am doing to go interview somebody there and then, but everybody who needs an interview will eventually get one. They may have to wait, maybe even wait for a few days, before an officer is available, but if they are not willing to wait, then we probably don't want them anyway.
