Lok'tar. My name is Sam, I'm 19 years old and I live in Belgium. I've heard great things about ORB; so I decided I might as well give it a shot!
Details of your Orc character: Name: Aoghar Class: Warrior Level: 23 (at the time of this application)
Tell us something about your playing experience: I've been playing WoW since vanilla, when a friend of mine introduced me to the game. My first character was a night elf warrior, with which I managed to bring a few of the first bosses in ZG and AQ20. When TBC came out, I found I'd gotten bored of my warrior, and I quit him after playing for a few more levels. I started a new character together with a friend, a dwarven paladin. With him I've also done several raids, but I wasn't really the hardcore type so I decided to start pvp-ing in arenas. We did okay, but he quit not much after. I also took a small break, and when WOTLK came out, I decided to come back. I started a blood elf DK on Sporeggar. A few months after, I'd gotten bored of the instance/gear/etc grinding though, so once again, I took a small break. Upon my return (addicting, isn't it?), I started a human rogue on Defias with some friends, and after a year or so, I also brought a night elf hunter up to 80. Since then I've been trying to level up a few more character but the grinding has always gotten to me, up to the point where I got annoyed and decided to quit yet again for a while.
Now I've come back, I didn't really feel like playing any of my existing characters, so me and a rl friend wondered, why not make hordes? It had been a while, so I figured, why not? I'll admit it's been a long time since I had this much fun playing WoW, and I'm hoping some great RP will compliment that even further.
Tell us something about your roleplaying experience: To be quite honest, I've never been much of a roleplayer before. Make no mistake, that doesn't mean I don't respect them; quite the contrary. I've always guessed with my little RP experience, I'd only mess things up for veterans who actually knew what they were doing. I guess you could say I felt intimidated. After reading some of the things written on these forums, I think this might be a great way to start my RP career and try to get the hang of it. I very much enjoy the ORB background, and in general, the orc's mentality mirrors most of my own opinions.
And finally, please write a short story and/or IC introduction about your character: -- Please note that as I stated before, I'm quite a newcomer to RP, and as such, this is the very first storyline I've ever written. I really hope there are no huge historical errors, but unfortunatly my knowledge of the lore was tiny up until I started researching for this. I've spent a few days on it, when I wasn't typing or thinking about it, I spent most of my time browsing through the ORB forums, watching youtube videos such as Tales of the Past and Divided Soul, and I can say they've only further encouraged me to post here. I hope you enjoy!

The sky above Draenor was dark. War raged in all corners of the world, yet there were some settlements where peace still remained. One of these places was a small village called Gral'gahr. Here lived Aoghan and his parents.
"Goodnight father, goodnight mother." - said Aoghan as he stood up from the campfire and walked off to his hut.
Not much to the north, in a small forest bordering the edges of the village, a party of raiders were setting up to plunder Gral'gahr.
"I want remind everyone we are not here to kill innocent people, we will take food and weapons only!" - spoke Endun, leader of the raiders, and as he put on his helmet, they rode off. As they approached the village, a few orcs sitting around the campfire heard the sound of the wolves, and started yelling in panic. The small settlement had never seen much action or fighting, other than the occasional hunt for talbuk, and even their best hunters were no match for the raider force. As they rode into Gral'gahr -- weapons sheathed--, Endun yelled; "We are not here to claim lives, we will take your meat and arrows, and as long you don't resist, you will not be hurt." He remained true to his word, and as the raiders had checked nearly every hut, they prepared to take off again.
"Hey, look at this one!"; yelled one of the raiders suddenly, while stumbling out of the last hut, his hand with a firm grip on Aoghan's neck, pushing him on the grass just before Endun. "He looks young, we could use him!" "No, don't do this, I will go with you, but leave my son alone - he is not a fighter!"; yelled Aoghan's father.
A rather small wolf rode up to Endun's side. The rider was smaller than an average orc, yet muscular. A scar from his hairline to his chin rendered his right eye useless. He seemed to care little for honor, and even less for life itself. "And what use would you be, old man? You're not even fit to feed our wolves, you have nothing to offer us."; spoke Gokrassh. He then turned to Endun. "We do need the boy."; he whispered. "You don't think it will stay like this do you? Just riding into towns threatening people? One of these days, we will meet an armed force, and we're going to need every orc we can get."
Endun let a deep sigh, but he knew Gokrassh was right. "Very well, he will come with us."; he replied - and lifted Aoghan to sit behind him on his wolf. Aoghan knew resistance would only make things worse, and he certainly didn't want to cause harm to his parents or himself, and, with a tear rolling down his cheek, the party rode off. That was the last time he would ever see his parents.
A few days later...
The raiders had set up camp in a forest, close to another village they were about to plunder. Everyone was tired from riding for 2 days straight, so Endun had decided they would go in the morning. Nearly everyone was asleep and snoring. All but Aoghan, he wasn't like this. He couldn't plunder and steal from his own people, but most of all, he wanted to see his parents again.
With eyes wide open, he looked around. Everyone was sleeping, or so it seemed, as he crawled up from his clefthoof fur and sneaked between the snoring orcs, out of the camp. He had left the safety of the bonfire, it was all up to him now. He was a mere 100 meters away from the camp, when the sound of a breaking twig alarmed him. For all he could hear, it came from his left, and as he turned and peered trough the trees, he suddenly realised all noise was gone, no birds were to be heard, he couldn't even hear the leaves blow above him. Then it became clear - it was the rush, as his eyes layed sight upon the greatest predator he'd ever seen or heard of. A gigantic wolf, with a pitchblack fur stood not 3 meters away from him, and as it growled viciously, Aoghan saw the montrous teeth he was most likely to be devoured by within seconds. The wolf braced, and howled as it leaped toward Aoghan, mouth wide open, ready to take it's prey to the next life, if it weren't for a split second of eye contact between the two.
The wolf, as if it doubted, threw itself on the ground behind Aoghan, only missing him by a centimeter. The orc turned around to face it. The beast had already crawled back up, and was now stepping towards him, in a slow, steady pace. As they faced eachother, Aoghan felt relief, he didn't know why, but for some reason, he trusted the wolf, and felt safe. As he opened his mouth to speak to the wolf, it growled violently and ran off. It was Endun, who was standing a few trees further. "How did you do that?"; he asked, though Aoghan had no intention of answering. "I know it was wrong to take you with us, I understand - you hate me, and for a good reason, but I couldn't make myself look like a weakling, not here, not in these times. I am sorry, even if it means nothing to you." He meant it. "Now, get back to the camp, we ride now." "What? It's still ni-" "get to the camp! NOW!"; Endun interrupted him. Aoghan had no choice.
A few minutes later...
With weapons drawn, they rode into the camp. "We will take your food and weapons, you resist - you die!"; Endun yelled as the raiders started searching trough all the huts. As Aoghan walked by a hut, he heard Gokrassh inside. "-and what's your name, pretty? Not that it matters... Why don't you just start undressing so we can get on with this, hmmh? Don't worry, I won't hurt you... not too much anyway."; he chuckled. Aoghan peeked inside. He saw Gokrassh, standing over a girl, an axe in his right-hand; when suddenly the girl kicked away to defend herself. Her foot knocked Gokrassh's knee straight back, and as he came off balance, he plunged his axe straight into the grass. "You will pay for this, bitch!" The girl had crawled back to the end of the hut, and was silently sobbing, her knees pulled up and her arms around them. She realized what she'd done, and knew she wouldn't make it out alive.
Gokrassh pulled his axe out of the ground, grunting in agony, and held it high, readying to strike down the crying female, if it weren't for Aoghan's intervention. He'd witnessed everything, and swift as lightning, he ran inside, pulled Gokrassh's dagger from his boot, and plunged it deep into the wounded orc's back. The tip of the blade even came out of Gokrassh's chest; the dagger had pierced his heart clean trough, and blood poured from the cuts on both sides of his body. Panting, Aoghan looked at the girl, and reached out his hand. "Come with me, we need to get away from here!"...
Not hours later, in a small forest, Aoghan and the girl had set up a small fire to spend the night. When Aoghan left to find more wood to keep the fire going, he heard the girl scream. He ran back as fast as he could, when suddenly he saw. It was his wolf, it had tracked Aoghan and followed him. He calmed the girl down, and as he looked the magnificent beast in the eyes, the wolf layed down in front of him, he knew from that moment on, the wolf would be his companion until the end. And so they ran, far away, the girl riding the big wolf, Aoghan running next to him, as they disappeared into the night...
The girl's name, as he came to find out, was Gernasha. Not long after - they married, and had a son. They were still on the run, but so I was born, a healthy, strong, young orc. Aoghar, son of Aoghan -- Aoghan Blackwolf.
It wasn't long after we heard about Orgrimmar, that we decided to travel there, and seek peace and protection behind the sturdy city walls. I remember little of what happened before. We were often on the run, things went fast and I barely had time to grow up. I am 20 years of age now, I know little of combat other than what my father taught me. To this day, me and my parents still live here, and ever since hearing big tales of valor and bravery; I wanted to lead an honorable life.
I have been seeking a cause. A cause to contribute to, a cause worth fighting for, a cause worth dying for...
