¤  Orcish Lore  ¤  Red Blade Ranks  ¤  Red Blade History  ¤   Guild Rules  ¤  FAQs  ¤

Although Warcraft's time lines are shaky at best, here's the closest depiction of the time line concerning orcish history. Keep in mind that some of these dates are an estimation, as Blizzard hasn't given any official dates for some particular details.

Though banished from Azeroth, the Burning Legion slowly begins to corrupt the orcish clans on the world of Draenor.

The once noble, shamanistic orc clans unite and become a rampaging Horde under the rule of the malevolent Shadow Council. The orcs give in to rage and attack their longtime neighbors — a peaceful race known as the draenei.

The orcs track down the last organized forces of the draenei and finally conquer all of Draenor. The widespread practice of necromancy finally drains Draenor completely, leaving the land dead. However, the victory had its cost, and the now corrupted orcs could only think of war and bloodlust, and without an enemy to fight, battled among themselves.

The Dying Times were upon Draenor. Having defeated the draenei, the orcish race expanded while Draenor slowly died out of resources. The orc clans started warring amongst each other for food and water.

Gul’dan is given a vision of the world of Azeroth. And so, the construction of the Dark Portal begins.

The Dark Portal is opened and the Horde begins its invasion of Azeroth. Orc scouts enter the Portal and begin exploring for a settlement area. They construct a small outpost in the uninhabited marshlands known as the Black Morass.

The First War begins, and the orcs press further into Azerothian lands.

Blackhand, the Horde's current warchief, is slain and succeeded by Orgrim Doomhammer. Doomhammer leads the Horde to sack Stormwind Keep. During the battle, Doomhammer's loyal spies capture one of Gul'dans assassins, Garona. They extract information from her concerning the Shadow Council, through which Doomhammer locates and slaughters the Horde warlocks. Gul'dan is forced to bow to his new superior. To gain Doomhammer's trust, he slaughters his own Necrolytes, and uses their spirits to create Death Knights. The Stormwind refugees, flee north to Lordaeron, thus the First War ends.

The orcs move north into Khaz Modan, and the Ironforge dwarves contact the humans for help. The dwarves of Ironforge and their allies, the gnomes, join the Alliance.

The Second War begins, and so Orgrim Doomhammer, the Warchief of the Horde, launches his mighty fleets to invade the shores of Lordaeron. The unstoppable Horde pushes its way into the heartland of Lordaeron and succeeds in destroying the High Elves' ancient kingdom of Quel'Thalas. In a bold move, Doomhammer manages to evade the Alliance’s main force and lays siege on the capital city of Lordaeron. Meanwhile, Gul'dan attempts to free Sargeras. Orgrim discovers the plan and sends out his agents to kill Gul'dan. However, due to this betrayal, the Horde’s forces at the capital are weakened, and so Alliance forces push the Horde back all the way to Blackrock Mountain. Here, the final battle of the Second War is fought, and Doomhammer manages to slay Lord Lothar, commander of the Alliance. Spurred by Lothar's Death, the Alliance armies crush the Horde and destroy the Dark Portal. The Alliance places any Horde survivors into internment camps.

The orcs reconstruct the Dark Portal. The shaman Ner'zhul reopens the rift between Draenor and Azeroth, sending orcs to steal artifacts to open multiple portals on Draenor. Alliance forces venture through the Dark Portal to stop Ner'zhul. The shaman opens his new Portals, but their energies spiral out of control, tearing Draenor apart in a catastrophic explosion by opening too many portals to other dimensions. The world's floating shards known as Outland, are now part of the Twisting Nether. The Alliance forces destroy the Dark Portal so that Azeroth is not consumed by the raging energies.

The human mage Rhonin leads an attack on the last powerful free orc clan: Dragonmaw. Rhonin and his band break the control the orcs have over the red dragonflight, and the dragons do the rest of the Alliance’s work for them.

Thrall, the son of Frostwolf Clan’s chieftain Durotan, who was taken by the humans as an infant, escapes from Blackmoore’s control and begins to search for his lost heritage. He learns of the existence of the Warsong clan — the only clan remaining that is undefeated by humans — and of its ferocious leader, Grom Hellscream. He reunites a number of renegade orc clans and leads them in revolt against the Alliance. After joining with Orgrim Doomhammer and Hellscream, Thrall frees the captive orcs and reforms the Horde. Doomhammer is slain in battle and Thrall becomes Warchief of the Horde. He reintroduces his people to the abandoned shamanistic culture of their ancestors.

As the Third War begins, the Horde captures Alliance ships and makes a dangerous journey past the Maelstrom to the unexplored lands of Kalimdor. The Horde unwittingly offends the night elves by gathering lumber, and the following battles push Grom Hellscream to drink demon blood for greater power. Horde and Alliance forces unite against the Burning Legion, destroying the demon Archimonde and defeat the Burning Legion. The surviving mortal forces establish new colonies on Kalimdor. Thrall and the Horde found a homeland in the desert of Kalimdor, naming it Durotar.

Admiral Proudmoore, Jaina's father, arrives on Theramore with the remainder of the Kul Tiras navy. He lands on Kalimdor and engages the Horde in a series of battles. The Horde pushes the battle back to Theramore, killing Admiral Proudmoore but leaving Jaina and those loyal to her alive.

12 euros for a year is not that much imo. If you guys setup a go-fund-me/paypal account I'll happily give some money, as Gahuk said Smiley

I'd happily put forward a few pound to a designated go-fund-me or paypal account to keep the forum open for atleast another year if others are willing to contribute too!

I'm unable to check up on specific prices right now, but depending on whether it's the website hosting or the domain itself, I believe it should be around 7 to 12 euros/pound a year. I'm sure it can be arranged when the time comes. Might not be until some time during Summer.

Is anyone actually interested in doing something to keep the forum funded? Koz hasn't said how much it costs yet.

Sadly a lot less to talk about here now when there isn't anything happening ingame anymore. Sad Seeing most of it tended to be event things and stories.
