(Hope I've done this right)

Name: Gu'ol
Class: Shaman
Level: 8 at the time of writing (intending to level up to 85)

Tell us something about your (role)playing experience: Been roleplaying in general for around ten years, mostly free form RP in chat rooms. When I came to WoW, I started off as Alliance, going through a rogue, paladin and warlock before finally settling on Druid. After a while I moved to Horde, playing a Blood elf priest, and contending with secret dragons, felblood half-elves and incestuous nobles, along with Orcs, trolls and tauren who were played far too much like humans for my taste. I've finally decided that Blood Elf RP has sort of burned me out, and decided to try something new. Having just finished Rise of the Horde, I opted for Orc.

And finally, please write a short story and/or IC introduction about your character:

Gu'ol, son of Lorakh, was one of the first children artificially aged by Gul'dan's warlocks, and took to the fel magic taught by them like a moth to a flame - fleeing from the Red Blade when the chieftain refused to bend to the will of the Legion and its minions to embrace the new destructive power the orc race had been 'blessed' with.

After leaving his clan, Gu'ol turned to the Blackrock orcs, gladly accepting their teachings, revelling in the destruction he wrought up the draenei on Draenor. He stepped forward eagerly to drink of the Blood of Mannoroth, completely seduced by the promise of power and glory.

During the First and Second Wars, Gu'ol was loyal to the Horde, he killed what he was ordered to, with his imp at his side, raining agony and fire down on anything he could. It wasn't until the Blood of Mannoroth began to weaken its hold on him that he saw the wrong in his actions.

Shortly before the Third War, Gu'ol found his way to the Frostwolf clan, close to the point of death with fatigue and hunger, never having been taught to hunt - and refusing to use his fel magic due to the wrongness he had started to feel. He travelled with Thrall, watching as orcs slowly started to recover the ways of the ancestors and elements, watching on wonder at this 'new' magic that the Frostwolf Chieftain was wielding. After the Third war, Gu'ol once again left the clan that housed him, This time in shame.

Having been taught how to hunt during his time in the company of the Frostwolf, Gu'ol was able to catch and cook his own food, wandering the continent of Kalimdor before settling in a secluded cave in the Stonetalon Mountains. Here, he spoke aloud to the ancestors he had betrayed, begging their forgiveness frequently

Many years passed, the journey to Outland, the assault on Northrend, everything passed Gu'ol by as he hunted survived and sought the forgiveness of his ancestors - who did not respond, until the invasion of the elementals.

The night before the invasion began, Gu'ol had a vision of his greatmother, offering the forgiveness of the ancestors, and the instruction to seek out the Horde - now changed under the young warchief. Gladly he travelled to Orgrimmar, only to be caught out in the open when the world was broken apart.

Fearing the worst, Gu'ol ran. He did not run away, he ran towards Orgrimmar - his time alone having made him a fine figure of an orc, he was able to cover a fair distance each day, even with fatigue. When he arrived at Orgrimmar he found that Thrall had left his position of Warchief to Garrosh Hellscream in order to seek assistance from the Mag'har. He also found one of the young Frostwolf whelps from when he was with them who talked with him about the Shamanic path, eventually teaching Gu'ol some of the arts before leaving to assist the Earthen Ring in Deepholm.

While he focused on calling the power of the elements and wisdom of his ancestors, Gu'ol discovered that his clan had survived, and has set out to seek forgiveness for his betrayal, and find his home once more.

Hello there, and welcome to the green side! Nice to see you have taken an interest in us, and certainly nice to see such an intensively-written character history as well.

The downside of such a thorough history is, of course, the risk of describing or writing something that is completely off.

I have to admit that there are a few things in your story that I questioned a little in the beginning. I take it he's of Red Blade origin? He evaded capture and the pacification of Gul'dan's warlocks after the Second War? The time throughout the New Horde was a little shady as well, though I reckon that only leaves room to think up additional history for when the time may be right. One doesn't need to have an entire character history ready upon joining, after all.

Above mentioned things may be small matters you may want to consider a moment before you head into an interview, though other than that, I'd say we might have an interesting applicant on our hands! Feel free to contact any Red Blade in-game to point you towards an officer for an IC interview!

My apologies for the gaps, I'm not too informed on the details after the opening of the Dark Portal up until the start of the warcraft storyline. Thank you for the chance, though Smiley
