Name: Saeroe Sidewinder
Class: Rogue
Level: 81

Tell us something about your (role)playing experience:
I have been Rping in WoW on Defias Brotherhood since WotLK. I have RPed with numerous persons, including The Orcs of the Red Blade on occasion and on various other characters, my mage 'Dulcinae' is part of Blade for Hire on the Alliance side.
I have roleplayed orcs before on Argent Dawn and am eager to roleplay a rogue for the first time.
As for PvP I have been doing some on my other characters but have done little on my rogue. I am hoping to correct that.

And finally, please write a short story:
In the World's End Tavern, Saeroe looked into the murky contents of her pint mug. She had made up her mind years ago to leave the Horde as soon as the glitter of gold, and therefore a way to rise out of the existence of squalor, presented itself. But was this life any better? The life of a scoundrel, thief, bounty hunter and executioner? Well... she wasn't wanting for coin at least...

A thin finger, the grubby nail kept a little too long, ran itself around the rim of the mug as the orc continued her thoughts. A smirk curled round her tusks as she recalled some past venture. The smile was not a pretty sight for only half of her face truly moved. The left side of her face, the eye covered with a patch to keep the dirt out of an eyeless socket, was ruined by a horrifically deep scar that ran from brow to just below her cheek, cutting deep into the bone. The muscles on the ruined half of her face barely worked it seemed. The face itself was thin.

Good times” she muttered affectionately in a deep voice, not befitting for a creature who might have appeared emaciated had it not been for the little toned muscle she had. Suddenly the thin orc glared at the approaching barkeep with her single 'good' eye. “What?”

Another, mercenary?”

No” she growled, her red eye watching the barkeep as he wandered off.

Was that what she was? A common mercenary? Did it... matter?

For a moment the orc blinked with her single working eye, the other eyelid long gone.

It did. It really did matter to her. She had noticed the streaks of grey in her hair, the beginnings of deeper wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. Each morning she was sure her body was developing yet another new and interesting creak. Falling apart at the seams it seemed. But worst of all she was beginning to realise that she had nothing but the skills she had honed over many years, the clothes on her back and a list of regrets. Honour, integrity, a feeling of self worth – all these things she had walked away from for the sake of coin. For the sake of avoiding her duties. Back then pursuing her own wants and desires far outweighed the needs of others.

Her eye flicked to a large pouch sitting up on the bar with her. She patted the contents affectionately, listening to the satisfying sound of coin clinking upon coin. Not that she didn't like glitter any longer of course. Far from it in fact, for she knew that while money did not buy happiness, it did make existing far easier. Not to mention, folk who were stupid enough to be departed from their own were just so... delicious.  However, life hung on the next deal, the next steal, the next 'relocation', the next 'removal' and while her needs were met, she doubted she could keep up her chosen profession much longer. The young were catching up and she was starting to loose interest with her current lifestyle.

But her thoughts digressed. Honour, integrity and self-worth were the important things to consider. Yes. Self-worth she had gained by herself, her skill with her hands while not well known was sought after by the few who knew, the few who could pay - the consortium were most lucrative business associates. Integrity she felt she had achieved when she walked out on those whom she has served before. Though she had to admit now times had changed. Perhaps no longer would she be asked to preform pointless and mundane tasks for the Horde.

And where was honoured gained? From the way you lived.

How did she live her life? As a money grabbing, liar and cheat – cutting the odd gem for a respected client or removing unwanted persons or items for a respectable sum would never hide that.

It was not the way to regain her lost honour. If she wished to pass into the spirit world at peace, something she had only begun to think about in the last few years, then she would have to change sooner rather than... too late. The realisation that none would notice her passing troubled her deeply. The realisation that the very spirits she had turned her back on might not forgive her troubled her all the more.

With a deep grunt she rose to her feet, left her half finished drink where it was, took only the pouch of coins and headed for the door. An ethereal walked into the tavern just as she was leaving. Those with a sharp eye may have noticed the exchange as they passed each other. A small pouch from ethereal to orc, another from orc to ethereal. Without a glance or word spoken both went their separate ways. One needed to travel far further than the other however.

It was time for a change and Saeroe believed Orgrimmar might be a place to start regaining the last of what she was trying to claw back – her honour and a connection to her own culture.

And an IC introduction about your character:
The orc was born on Draenor to the Blackrock Clan. She actively fought in the second war in her youth and secured the name Sidewinder – a venomous rattlesnake – for her knowledge of poisons and how to use them effectively.... that and for being a slippery sort.
Saeroe left the Horde as soon as their position on Kalimdor had been secured after their liberation in the Eastern Kingdoms, wanting nothing more than to walk away from that which had made her bitter and jaded; war. She'd lost an eye, wasn't paid enough, some days she didn't eat and slept on the streets, yet still she was expected to just keep on killing. Finally she snapped. Since this new Horde was doing nothing for her, she would have to look after herself, the rest could go burn on a pyre. She had done too much for no gain. As far as her peers were concerned she simply... vanished.
From there she travelled across the worlds, starting off as a simple mercenary. Finally she ended up as a retired assassin hiding in Shattrath City, working for the Consortium and anyone else who's 'scheme' she fancied dipping her toes into for the trill. The rest of the time she gave her time to her only hobby – the crafting of things that glitter.

As age has crept up on her Saeroe has finally come to the conclusion that it is time to head back to her people, the bitterness and hatred from before all but gone. Realisation that she had been wrong to walk away from something, just because it was difficult, has finally been accepted.

Time heals many wounds.

This seems to be most well written in fact! Makes me regret that I haven't been able to read it through sooner. I like the description and history of your character. It will be most interesting to see how she will fare in the tribe.

Feel free to contact any red blade in game to point you towards an officer for an IC interview!
